Daniela Lehwaldt, PhD MScEd BNS Cert. ICU & Anaesthetic Nursing RGN RNT SFHEA CGNC

Associate Professor, School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, Dublin City University, Ireland.

Dr. Daniela is a former Nurse Practitioner and the current Chair of the ICN NP/APN Network. She has been part of the Network since 2011 and has held various roles and responsibilities prior to taking up the role of Chair. She holds other volunteering positions including President of the Subgroup ‘International’ at the German Network Deutsches Netzwerk APN & ANP g.e.V. and she is a founding member of the Ireland – Africa Alliance for NCDs.

In her day job as Associate Professor, Dr. Daniela carries out advanced nursing research, supervises PhD students and teaches on the Masters and undergraduate nursing programmes at the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health at Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland. She has published widely in her two native languages German and English. Daniela is Section Editor for Global Passports with The Journal for Nurse Practitioners.  

She is a Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Nurse Tutor (RNT), Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA) and Certified Global Nurse Consultant with TruMerit. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Studies (BNS), Master’s degree in Science in Education (MScEd) and a PhD. 

Dr. Daniela is an experienced international speaker. She has presented many keynotes and has inspired people all over the world to develop, implement and evaluate advanced nursing roles. Daniela has led many local, national, European and global groups both in research and networking.
