She is a Board-Certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Family Psychiatric & Addictions Advanced Practice Nurse with more than 30 years of clinical experience in individual, couples, and family therapy, psychopharmacology, and medication management. She founded APNSolutions, LLC in 2011 as a nurse-managed private practice in Southern New Jersey, where she provides care to patients across the lifespan experiencing psychiatric and substance use disorders. An honors graduate of Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Drexel University, she completed her doctoral degree with a focus on premenstrual symptom exacerbation in women with psychiatric comorbidities. In 2020, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in recognition of her professional contributions. She is known for her expertise in complex diagnostics, treatment-resistant symptoms, and integrated therapeutic approaches, and she collaborates closely with physicians and mental health professionals throughout the region.
In addition to her clinical practice, she serves as an Advanced Senior Lecturer in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, where she taught advanced psychopharmacology across the lifespan for more than 13 years. She is a clinical preceptor for psychiatric advanced practice nursing students from colleges and universities nationwide, co-chairs the Addictions Council of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and is widely published and frequently invited to present at professional conferences. Her clinical approach is dynamic, solution-focused, and compassionate, integrating evidence-based therapies, psychopharmacology, and complementary methodologies to deliver highly personalized care. She is licensed and nationally certified in psychiatric and addictions advanced practice nursing in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with extensive credentials in psychopharmacology and advanced clinical practice.
This session challenges traditional paradigms by positioning every NP/APN, regardless of specialty, as essential to addiction prevention, early identification, and compassionate care. Participants will explore practical strategies for screening, brief interventions, harm reduction, and cross-cultural approaches that promote equitable and person-centered care.
